I wove this impressive piece in overshot using the "Blooming Leaf of Mexico" pattern.
In overshot, the weaver creates two layers of fabric simultaneously. The finer yarn, woven in tabby or plain weave, forms the supporting fabric, while the heavier yarn fashions the overshot pattern layer. Following traditional custom, I used cotton for the finer yarn and wool for the thicker pattern yarn.
