Handweaving

Handwoven goods turn the necessities of everyday living into luxury. Drying your hands or doing the dishes become lavish experiences. Pulling on a handwoven scarf is akin to wrapping yourself in contentment. Each time you carry your handwoven wallet, bag, or purse, you remember you are holding an individually made, distinctive item woven by hand in my studio, not simply one of thousands mass-produced in a noisy industrial factory. Indulge yourself with the things that you need anyway by making them handwoven!

High Castle Traditional Crafts offers a wide range of handwoven items, including: bags, wallets, purses, scarves, table runners, rag rugs, placemats, towels, stuffed animals, and pillows.

I work primarily with natural fibers (such as cotton, linen, hemp, wool, and silk) but occasionally use a small percentage of synthetics. Some pieces are woven from naturally-colored (no dyes) organic cotton. The fiber content of each item is always stated.

I weave everything by hand on a four-harness 36" wide floor loom.

Sometimes there are several of each item available for sale; other pieces are one of a kind. Please keep this fact in mind when ordering.

The selection will change weekly as items are sold and new pieces are woven.

REMEMBER! The colors that you see on your computer monitor may not be the exact colors of the item. Every monitor is different. Therefore, I have also included a description of the color and yarn used in each piece.
